Sustainability

Our commitment to the planet

At ROKA London, sustainability isn't a checkbox, it's built into every stitch, every strap, and every bag we make. Here's the honest story of how we do it.

Why it matters

Good for you. Better for the planet.

The fashion industry is one of the world's biggest polluters. We think that's rubbish, literally. So from day one, we've been obsessed with finding smarter ways to make bags that last, that look incredible, and that don't cost the Earth its future.

Every choice we make, from the factories we partner with to the threads we use, is guided by one simple question: can we do this better?

What we're made of

Our Materials, Our Manifesto

We carefully select every material in our range,  not just for how it looks, but for what it means for the world. Here's a breakdown of everything we work with:

Figures are approximate, based on 500ml bottles. All recycled fabrics are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified.

The bag it comes in? That's compostable.

All our bags arrive protected by poly bags which are made from corn starch and certified compostable. You can pop it in your home food or garden bin – the bacteria do the rest. No plastic, no fuss. Our bags are shipped from the warehouse to your door within paper mailing bags – these paper mailers are 100% recyclable and the paper is FSC accredited.

Beyond the Bag

Sustainable materials are just the start. We also think carefully about:

Ethical Factories

We work with factories certified under SEDEX and BSCI social auditing frameworks. Good ethics, independently verified.

Certified materials

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 across our recycled range - tested safe from production to the finished product.

Built to Last

The most sustainable bag is one you never need to replace. So we obsess over quality.

Certified B Corp™

Anyone can say they care. B Corp certification means ours has been independently verified, across how we treat people, how we affect the planet, and how we run things day to day. It's the difference between a promise and a proof point.

The certification covers hundreds of criteria across social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. It's reassessed every three years, so there's no such thing as resting on your laurels. We have to keep showing up, and we think that's exactly how it should be!

We're not perfect. But we're trying, every single day.

Sustainability is a journey, not a destination. We'll keep pushing, keep improving, and keep you in the loop.
Got questions or ideas? We'd love to hear from you.
